Travelling with a double bass is always a challenge. Our neck removal system is simple and as close to a conventional, glued-in neck as possible. No metal rails, no over engineering. The neck holds itself in place with a carbon fibre reinforced wooden connection, covered in ebony to be hard and last for many, many flights and is easily refitted by every skilled luthier. The connection between neck and body is as perfectly fitted as on every of our standard basses, and it could easily be converted back to a non Neck Removal System (NRS) bass with a few ml of glue.
Coming perfectly fitted in its flightcase, which is seperable in neck and body case or can travel together as one piece, it weighs under 30 kg together or under 23kg for body and under 10kg for the neck case. The bass even rests in a bag, so you can easily carry it to your venue after putting the bass together in your hotel room. It only takes one screw, and the bass is playable in under 5 minutes.
