Our basses are made exclusively by hand. Building a perfect instrument requires more than 300 hours of work, a lot of precision, experience and craftsmanship.
This causes a waiting list for new basses.
Rubner Werkstätten Bass – Germany 2024
4-string length 104 cm A fine, new double bass built in the Rubner workshop in Adorf, Germany. Setup by K&T, updates from the standard edition that is sold anywhere else: ULSA Endpin, Fingerboard dressed, Soundpost new and properly fitted. Handy but big in Tone, great Jazz and Orchestra bass with very bassy sound. Roundback, all solid wood, spirit varnish.

Outstanding new double bass built by our Romanian partner workshop. It’s perfectly upgraded by K&T with a new bridge, german ULSA endpin and ebony-mounted. The Bass is very handy, beautiful and big in sound.

String length 103 cm. Made approx. 1940. The bass needed a complex new and antiqued varnishing because the original varnish was badly damaged. Now it has been greatly upgraded. Built in by our Romanian partners and set by K&T with high end bridge and soundpost, ebony tailpiece and Bender titanium spike. With expensive Rubner Quick Change tuners for quick string changes and ebony pegs. A high-quality instrument that will give many years of great pleasure and does not have to hide in terms of sound compared to expensive 5-strings.

5-string length 105 cm Better mechanics, better bridge, better tailpiece. New master instrument by Björn Stoll. The name speaks for itself, this bass sounds excellent in all positions. An orchestral bass with strong E and H string, completely balanced and with a sound that suggests a much older (and more expensive) bass. With a fine tuning as well as bridge from KT, a special spike and a ebony tail piece, this bass is a great instrument!

String length 100 cm Built in Germany, 1977. Made in Germany, 1977. This bass was custom-made for Family Bürgschwendtner in Salzburg. The instrument has never been opened, has no cracks and is in excellent condition. Everything is still in its original condition, the original bridge and soundpost are included in the purchase. The bass is relatively small with a short string length and wide ribs. With its deep and dark sound, it’s a great solo instrument but also sounds great for Orchestra or Jazz. K&T Setup.

4-string, scale length 104.5cm A handy 3/4 bass from Horst Grünert without significant damage, crack-free and with a great sound. Adjusted by K&T with MPM height adjustment system in the K&T bridge and Anima Nova soundpost. A bass that plays almost by itself and can do everything: orchestra, solo and jazz. Also suitable for smaller musicians!
